According to a study by JLL, which surveyed over 5,000 employees from 15 different countries, German employees spend just under 2.3 working days a week in the traditional office. This compares with 4.5 days before the pandemic in 2020. This means that the figure has halved.
The reason for this is likely to be the Corona pandemic, which sent many employees to the home office for safety and hygiene reasons.
For the future, JLL forecasts a quotient of only 2.6 working days per week in German offices.
What happens to vacant offices that are an additional burden due to the energy crisis? Many companies have adapted their structure in light of the developments and implemented New Work concepts. This makes coworking spaces attractive, which shine through their flexibility, diversity and non-commitment.
